The Inspiration Series was hosted by Andrew Lippman, Associate Director, MIT Media Lab. You are also welcome to view our featured speaker presentations and their Q&As further below

Featured Speakers

Research Assistant and Design Researcher, Personal Robots Group, MIT Media Lab
Anastasia Ostrowski is a PhD student and design researcher at the MIT Media Lab in the Personal Robots Group. Her work focuses on equitable design of robots, including co-design and participatory design approaches. Before becoming a design researcher at the Media Lab, she received her master’s and bachelor degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Michigan with a focus on engineering design processes and idea generation. Aparna Balagopalan

PhD Student, EECS
Aparna Balagopalan is a second-year PhD student in EECS at MIT, supervised by Dr. Marzyeh Ghassemi. Her research broadly focuses on developing interpretable and robust models by carefully re-evaluating and surfacing assumptions in machine learning-based measurements in socially-relevant contexts. Prior to this, she received a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto, supported by a MITACS Accelerate scholarship, and a BTech degree from the IIT Guwahati.
